Who can be an angel investor?

You do not need to be a millionaire or a seasoned venture capitalist to become an angel investor. An annual income of £100,000+ alone is enough to meet the high net worth investor definition. What you do need is:

• Disposable capital: Angel investments typically range from £5,000 to £50,000 per deal. At Cornwall Angel Network we do not have a minimum ticket size so it is down to the company to decide the lowest ticket they would accept.

• Business experience: Many angels are former entrepreneurs, executives, or professionals who understand the challenges of building a business.
• A long-term mindset: Returns can take years, and not every investment will succeed.

The Cornwall Angel Network is committed to increasing diversity and lowering entry barriers for new angel investors. Unlike a traditional angel network, we do not charge investors a yearly membership fee or take a success fee from the amount invested. This means that all the money invested goes to the company and you can test if angel investing is for you without incurring costs in the process. We only ask for a commitment to make your first investment within 12 months of joining the network.

What support can I get?

We are a registered member of the UK Business Angels Association (UKBAA), the national trade association representing angel and early-stage investment in the UK.
