Screen Cornwall’s new equity investment vehicle for TV and Film, SCEPI, has confirmed its first investment in The Housekeeper – a fictional film written by Rose Tremain about Daphne du Maurier. Helmed by acclaimed British director Richard Eyre (Notes on a Scandal; The Dresser) the film will star Anthony Hopkins, Helena Bonham Carter, Catriona Balfe and Emma Laird.

Helmed by acclaimed British director Richard Eyre (Notes on a Scandal; The Dresser) the film will star Anthony Hopkins, Helena Bonham Carter, Catriona Balfe and Emma Laird.

SCEPI is the first public/private scheme of its kind combining social purpose with potential returns on investment. Private investors will be presented with film and TV investment projects which leverage in public money to catalyse the growth of the screen sector in the region. Projects will be at a variety of budget levels and will include opportunities to back established and emerging talent from the CIOS region.

SCEPI is supported by Cornwall Council’s Good Growth Fund (Shared Prosperity Fund), managed and delivered by Screen Cornwall. Our aim is to attract quality Film & TV production to the region, and to compete with schemes across the wider UK and beyond. This is patient capital with an additional social purpose to create opportunities and value for local people and businesses. It’s an opportunity to get involved in film investment in a structured and locally impactful way that could also bring additional benefits such as set visits and tickets to screenings.
